Valley Holiday Park, Polzeath Karaoke Evening 5th Week 25/08/2010

Well this evening is my 5th and final week of my Summer Holiday Run at The Valley Holiday Park in Polzeath and I must say we have had a really good run this year and has been very enjoyable working at this venue for yet another year. Also this evening is a bit special for me and my girl is down from Birmingham and we are celebrating her birthday today so after this event its back home a quick change then we are both off to Mango Tango's for a night out and to meet up with Little John who is covering for me on this evening. Again as I have said previously this would have been our 3rd year at The Valley Holiday Park in Polzeath, but it is actually our 2nd because even though we were booked to do the summer run last year we did not make it due to a massive fire that had taken out the club house along with all the offices just before the beginning of last season.The local council has allowed the park to operate its entertainment this year from a marquee, but their are restrictions on time and noise levels obviously. Because of this we decided along with the owner that we would do 2 sessions of Karaoke. The first session was 5.00pm till 7.00pm which was a children's Karaoke and then 7.30pm till 10.00pm as a family Karaoke as all entertainment has to be stopped by 10.00pm. Due to child protection issues we obviously did not take any pictures for uploading of the children's Karaoke event.

With me on this occasion was Rob from our village and we set off from our offices at 3.30pm this week and we arrived at the holiday park for 4.15pm and Rob carried all the equipment in for me whilst I set up the show and this only took us about half hour again to set everything up as we put one of our small to medium shows in for this event, Well the weather was the worse we have had all summer on this occasion and it affected us quite bad as it was very cold and wet as we were in the marquee. Well we had quite a few of the kids in for the Kids Karaoke and we again were playing more requests than Karaoke Songs, which was OK as we were having a great laugh together.

The kids stayed for a while as we started the Family Karaoke Party. I Started off this next session by still playing the requested songs from the kids and I have to admit due to the awful weather we had on this evening the Family Karaoke did not get off to a start so through out the evening we did the odd Karaoke Request from the kids and mainly played up to date music to keep the Kids entertained. This was quite sad for me as it was our final show for this year but none of us can predict the weather unfortunately.

Well I finished dead on 10.00pm Rob then helped pack up the equipment and took it to the van and loaded up. It took us only 15 minuets to pack away this week as I had to get home then get ready for a night at Mango Tango's as it is my girls birthday so we are out celebrating as Little John and Darren ar covering this venue for me again.
