The Tamar Crown Hill Plymouth May Day Saturday 01/05/2010
We were last at The Tamar as you may have read in our Journals on Easter Bank Holiday Saturday We are now in its 7th year at The Tamar and it is a bit of a shame as we used to do this venue about once a month but due to the credit crunch and the economy we are now only there on Bank Holiday Weekends at the moment un till things pick up a bit, but I personally can not see us coming out of this recession, if we ever do for a very long time. But at least we are still doing this venue. We set of from our office in Bodmin at 5.30pm and arrived at the venue at 7pm with me this week was Rob who is back with us now he has moved back to my village and Darren who you may have read about a couple of Journals ago. Rob and Darren carried all the gear in for me then helped me to set up which took us about an hour as the show we put into The Tamar was one of our medium shows as you can see from the pictures above. We started the show off at 8.00pm and played background music for about half an hour until I started at 8.30. We did not have quite a large crowd as we did Easter Bank Holiday in The Tamar on this evening as I think this is because it was raining really hard most of the night ( Typical British weather eh? ) but we had a great night anyway. What I decided to do on this evening was make is a request night as our numbers were low and this worked really well. I had requests coming in all night and we must have played music that we had not played in a long time. It was actually a really good atmosphere and the crowd were trying to catch me out buy coming up with requests that they taught I would not have but I did which make a great evening of entertainment. We finished at Midnight and got packed up and ready to go within an hour then made our way home, and guess what the Kentucky is now open till 5am in Crown Hill so obviously we all went for something to eat before we traveled back home. I eventually arrived home about 2.30am after dropping Darren off in St. Austell. We are back at The Tamar in 4 Weeks for Whitsunday Bank holiday and we are all looking forward to another great night at this venue and hopefully the weather will be fine and we should have a turn out like Easter Saturday. Well tomorrow night I have a wedding celebration back at La Scala in Bodmin Jail and Little John is doing a Karaoke for me at The Swan in Wadebridge, hence another hectic Bank Holiday Weekend For R.J.Rhythm and the Crew.
