The Tamar, Crown Hill, Plymouth. Christmas Eve 2011

This is our 9th Christmas Eve for R.J.Rhythm Entertainments at the Tamar in Crown Hill near Plymouth and I knew it was going to be another great night to remember. This year was quite hectic for me as I had to be in 2 places at once lol as my interests in Mango Tango's in Falmouth kept me there till 7.00pm. So that was not so bad as I arranged for Darren to take the show to the Tamar in Crown Hill for me and set up and warm the crowd up for me before I got there as I was entertaining at Mango Tango's in Falmouth for the Afternoon between 3.00pm and 7.00pm.

Well Darren set off from our offices at about 5.30 pm and I know he was very much looking forward to this night as we know from experience what The Tamar is like on such a special evening and he was quite excited at warming up for me on this evening. He arrived at The Tamar at about 6.30pm and again he had help setting up and unloading the van as the bar staff all helped him as they knew I was not arriving till later. I arrived at the Tamar at 9.00pm and l it was packed even more than the year before and again the atmosphere was electrifying as I walked into the Venue. Well Darren had the whole venue dancing and was really enjoying himself and he had done a great job in warming the crowd up for me. All night ling various people were coming up and asking for various requests and because of our extensive collection we obviously had them all which pleased myself and the punters.

We finished around 1.00am and all evening we had the dance floor packed and again I must say that most people as you can see from the various photographs were in some sort of festive fancy dress, and talking to the manager this was again the best Christmas Eve ever on record which I can honestly say that I thought the same thing and it's great to know that we are beating our record year after year. We packed away within a hour which was not bad going as we were all really feeling the strain of our Christmas runs and were all looking forward to Christmas Day for a rest.

At the end of the evening when everything was packed away I was talking to Emma (the manageress) about the budget for next year as for the past 3 years since the recession she has had to struggle to get entertainment into her venue. Well the powers that be who are Orchid Pubs Group have decided to cut her entertainment budget completely for next year and nobody is happy about this decision at all so we are not quite sure what is going to happen next year and I can not believe that after 9 years this has happened. So this New Years Eve may be our last at The Tamar so I know we are going to pull out all the stops and make it one big party night and defiantly a night to remember.

Well I am back at Mango's for Boxing night, Wednesday Karaoke and Friday Night Request Night, then back at The Tamar for another crazy night which will be New Years Eve. So we will see yo all then.

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year.
