40th Birthday (80's Theme) at The Russell Inn. Polruan 06/02/2010

This one was the first visit for R.J.Rhythm as we have never worked at The Russell Inn before I was looking forward to this one as the theme was a fancy dress 80's evening celebrating a 40th Birthday and I knew from when I took this booking and speaking to the organizer this night was going to be another one of our best nights as most of the guests were dressing up for the occasion.

Well I set off from our offices at 5.30pm and picked up Andy from St. Austell who was helping me on this function. Well Polruan is not far if you could get on the ferry from Fowey, but the ferry was not running as it is too early in the year and we had to make our way all the way round which was about a 30 mile trip to get to the venue. It seemed to take us ages to get to Polruan as the Sat Nav was taking us down single track roads etc. We eventually arrived at the venue about 7pm and unloading was not to bad as we managed to park quite close to the venue and it only took myself and Andy about 45 minutes to set as we decided to put one of our Small to Medium Disco shows in for this evening as we did not have a lot of room or height at this venue.

We were set up for about 7.45pm and started about 8.30.The pub was beginning to fill up from about 8.00pm and everyone arriving were all in fancy dress and I must admit the costumes were out of this world and I knew from this that myself and Andy were going to have one hell of an evening and as you can see from the pictures they all had a great time throughout the evening. Everyone one including my staff and the guests had a great evening and this one will no doubt be talked about for quite some time. We do have some video footage of this event so please take a look at our Video page of the dancers and the costumes that made this event a night to remember as everyone who were in fancy dress looked fantastic also you can see how everyone was having a great time through out the whole evening.

Well we tried to finish at 12.30am but the crowd and the management were having none of that and we were asked to play on till 1am, which obviously we did with no extra cost. We eventually got finished about 1.10am then myself and Andy packed away within 45 minuets We were both quite tired as from beginning to end it was all go on this night and as per usual everyone had a great night with myself and the R.J.Rhythm Entertainments Crew. We eventually got back to our offices about 3am as again we had to travel down single track roads etc to get back. Looking forward to next weekend when we will be at The Garland Ox in Bodmin and then at Lanlivery Village Hall for 2 Valentine Weekend shows.
