Indian Queens Working Men's Club 21st Birthday Karaoke 07/08/2010
It has been a very long time since R.J.Rhythm and the crew have worked at The Indian Queens Working Men's Club and if I remember correctly the last time I was there must of been over 5 years ago for a Wedding Reception. The club has a really nice function room which is quite large and a really nice stage which had a loading area right behind it so setting up at this venue was a dream. Tonight's show was for the 21st Birthday of a girl called Toni and I was really looking forward to this one myself as the show was booked as a Disco and Karaoke Evening. We arrived about 6pm to set up for this evening as we were booked to start at 7.00pm. With me on this booking was Rob from our village, Rob carried all the equipment in for me then helped me set up and as I said in the first paragraph setting up was a dream as the stage area had a loading bay right behind it. We set up one of our large Karaoke and Disco shows for this evening as we had quite a large stage area. It took us about an hour to set up this show and by 7pm we were all finished and sound checked ready to start. We started the disco at 7.00pm and began by playing some background music whilst the guests arrived with quite a few chart records as most of the age group were between 18 and 25 then at 8.30 they opened the buffet and we carried on playing through this as we had people dancing. After about half hour we then got the party really started. We played all sorts of music from the 80's right up to date including all them cheesy party records we all love. As you can see from the pictures everyone had a great time we started doing the Karaoke from about 9.00pm slotting in the odd one or two in between playing our party music. The people who sang on the Karaoke were really good and we were meant to finish the Karaoke off at 11.00pm to finish the evening off with just a disco but we did not finish the Karaoke till about 11.30pm. Everyone had a great time all night long as you can see from our picture on this Journal. We finished at midnight and I had a great round of applause yet again when I ended so I knew we had done everyone proud. Rob and myself packed away the show then rob carried all the equipment to me whilst I loaded the van. It took us about an hour to pack away as we were in no rush at all and whilst we were packing away we had various people coming up to us and thanking us for a good night. Well back of to Birmingham tomorrow (Sunday) to see my girl, then back to Cornwall on Tuesday evening so I go time to get ready for Mano Tango's on the wednesday night as I an not doing my summer run at the Valley Caravan Park this coming Wednesday as we have a party to do there on the Saturday night which again we are all looking forward to it once again.
