The Mutley Crown Karaoke Evenings on Wednesday's 03/06/2009

I have worked the Plymouth area now for over 8 years and never worked in Mutley even though I have passed it hundreds of times and from the outside it looks like a great fun pub to work in.

We set off from our offices at 5.30pm there was Freddie, Annette and Rob with me on this evening. We arrived at the venue about 7pm and unloading was a dream as they have all the equipment in the venue, all we had to set up was our Mixer, Mikes and TV monitor as it was a Karaoke Evening. Obviously it took us about half an hour to set up as we were new to this venue and even though they had all there own equipment we had to plug my equipment into it so we took our time to make sure we got everything right as my mixer was going through the venue's sound system and I patched into the video system also for the Karaoke to allow the Karaoke to be played through the various screens around the Venue as well as our stage monitor.

We were set up for about 7.45 and we did not start till 9pm which was great as it gave me time to have a good look round Mutley and obviously as I was there we had to go to the Kentucky as we only have 2 in Cornwall and none of them are near me at all. Well 9pm came and we started our Karaoke Evening. I was covering for Doug who usually does the Karaoke Evenings at the Mutly Crown as he was on holiday and they were running a heat of the Karaoke Competition that was running at the moment. We needed to find 3 people to put through to the Karaoke final which is happening in July. There were lots of people requesting songs for the Karaoke and Lots of people entering the heat also.We have some video footage of this event so please take a look at our Video page of the singers that made this event a night to remember as everyone who sang were excellent and we had a great evening at The Mutley Crown.

We finished around 12.15am and packed away within 15 minuets as we had a long journey home and we were all quite tired as from beginning to end it was all go on this night and as per usual everyone had a great night. I am back there soon covering for Dizzy Daz doing DJ Work and I can't wait as the crowd and the staff at the Mutley Crown were great to work with.
