Tracy and Kylie's Birthday at Maxine's in Union Street Plymouth 04/04/2009

This event was a first for R.J.Rhythm as we have worked all over Plymouth and in Union Street but never in our 12 years in Cornwall worked Maxine's and we were all looking forward to working in this venue the first time. The reputation of Maxine's over the years have been very bad especially when it used to be The Hackney Carriage, but Maxine has turned this venue round completely and with a recent refit the place has to be now one of the best venues in Union Street and we had a great time there. How private parties works here is that you can have the venue between 6pm and 11pm which I think is a great idea.

We set of from our office in Bodmin at 4pm and arrived at Maxine's about 5ish. There was Me, Freddie, Scott and Andy who is part of our plymouth crew. When we got there we decided what equipment to put in as Maxine's is fitted out really nice. We decided to put in some extra lighting for more effect but we did use the sound system that was fitted. It was a Karaoke and Disco Evening that had been booked so everything was set up within the hour.You can see more from this show by looking at our Video Page

We started the show off at 7pm and played background music for about an hour whilst the guests arrived then from about 8pm we started the karaoke. The party was quite a small crowd about 40 but they were all dancing and doing a bit of Karaoke throughout the evening. Well 11pm came and my guys pack away the lighting we put in for the evening as I carried on playing as we done a swap over as the evening DJ was playing for the rest of the evening till 6am.

We got packed up and ready to go within the hour and around midnight made our way home, we eventually arrived home about 1.30am and we all agreed it was a very good evening and the venue had changed so much that we would not hesitate to work Maxine's again.
