University College Marjon Plymouth 07/07/2010

It's our 2nd year now back at The Marjon University College also known as The College of St Mark and St.John in Plymouth. The Evening was to finish off a Summer School that they run for 16 year old students who are thinking of attending the College after the summer holidays, which I think is a great idea myself as we did not get opportunities like this when we were growing up. We also had another gig on this evening as you know we now do Mango Tango's in Falmouth on a Wednesday Evening, so I sent Little John, Annette and Darren to cover for me whilst I was at this venue for 2 weeks.

With me on this booking was Rob from my village. We arrived at the venue about 5.30pm, Rob carried in the equipment and helped me to set up. We were booked this year from 7.00pm till 11.00 pm where as last year it was 8.30 till 11.00pm. The evening was booked as a Karaoke and Disco Evening to celebrate the end of Summer School and the theme was a fancy dress. Almost everyone was dressed up and were in a really good party mood for the evening. Everyone looked great even some of the Tutors were dressed up and the atmosphere throughout the night was magnificent.

Well as I said we started the party off about 7pm with some background music as the guests were arriving, then about 7.45pm we wound it up and started the party and from record 1 we had people dancing.and within 10 minutes or so we had the first person up doing Karaoke. We had lots of Karaoke requests throughout the evening and I must say we has some brilliant singers too like last year. Students and Tutors sang throughout the evening as we had a great party atmosphere all night long. We did take some pictures of this event and as you can see but there is no definition in the pictures above as they are on the internet and I have done this for child protection issues.

Well we eventually finished at 11pm and I was quite sad myself to be finishing as we had what I would say yet another one of our best nights of Karaoke on this evening. It took us about 45 minutes to pack away and get everything into the van. We eventually got home at 1.00am and were completely shattered again after yet another successful evening with myself and the R.J.Rhythm Entertainments crew.

I personally would like to wish all the students every success in what they decide to do for the future and would also like the thank the college and staff for making me so welcome and giving me the chance to work with these students for yet another year.
