University College Marjon Plymouth 13/05/2010

Well I can not believe it has been nearly 12 months since we were at The College of St. Mark and St. John, it only seems like yesterday since we were entertaining the students and staff at this magnificent College. Tonight's function for for the final year student ambassadors and was booked as a Karaoke and Disco Evening. As before when I work at this venue we do take pictures and video of this event which I send to the college but I am sorry that they will not be uploaded to the internet for child protection issues hence why I carefully chosen the above pictures on this Journal.

With me on this booking was Rob from my village. We arrived at the venue about 3pm as we needed to set up by 5pm as there was a sit down meal before the entertainment started. Rob carried in the equipment and helped me to set it up then we went off for something to eat and arrived back at 6.45pm. We were booked from 7.30 till 11pm but we started at 7pm as the crowd were ready to go with lots of excitement and from our first record we had people dancing.and within 10 minutes or so we had the first person up doing Karaoke. We had lots of Karaoke requests throughout the evening and I must say we has some brilliant singers too. Students and Tutors sang throughout the evening as we had a great party atmosphere all night long. We had mostly Karaoke during the evening and a little bit of music in between doing sets of 5 Karaoke requests. We even done a bit of party music as they were requesting silly songs as well for me to play like Superman and Oops Upside Your Head etc. So you can guess what sort of night we had and this was all night long.

Well we eventually finished at 11pm and it took us about 45 minutes to pack away and get everything into the van. We eventually got home at 1.20am and were completely shattered again after yet another successful evening with myself and the R.J.Rhythm Entertainments crew. I can't wait for the Summer School to start as we have 2 weeks when we entertain the ending of the Summer School that they run for 16 year old students who are thinking of attending the College after the summer holidays, which I think is a great idea myself as we did not get opportunities like this when we were growing up.

I personally would like to wish all the students every success in what they decide to do for the future and would also like the thank the college and staff for making me so welcome and giving me the chance to work with these students for yet another year.
