Lanhydrock Hotel Corporate Christmas Parties 04/12/2009

Well another year has passed and R.J.Rhythm are back again for another tour of December nights at The Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club, and like every year myself and my staff was looking forward to the Christmas run back at this venue. The evenings were a little different this year as changes have been made by the Hotel which meant that some nights we were playing up and downstairs. What the hotel have done this year is like years previously the main downstairs bar hosts various companies having there christmas party and all joining in the fun together but upstairs this year you would get one larger company celebrating christmas and having the room to themselves, which I must admit is a great idea and obviously R.J.Rhythm was asked if we could cover 2 shows when it was needed which we are able to do now that we have some great staff working for R.J.Rhythm Entertainments.

You may notice throughout these December Journals that there are no pictures or videos taken at any of these functions as we respect the privacy of the various companies and people letting their hair down, also it is quite hard to ask every company for permission who may be attending on the evenings. The pictures that will appear on these pages however are pictures of the shows that we have set up for the evenings so you can see for yourselves what sort of show we were using to entertain on the evenings I also will be combining upstairs and downstairs shows on one page per day of booking.

Myself and Andy from Bodmin who is not to be confused with Andy from our Plymouth Crew set up the show for downstairs in the Afternoon as we do each year as obviously we do not want to disturb people whilst they are having their Christmas meals before the disco. As this was our 1st year of running 2 shows on some weekends it took us quite a while to sort everything out on this first occasion. Andy carried everything in for me and helped me to set up one of our big shows as you can see from the picture at the top of this page. The big show was in the main room and the equipment that we were using for upstairs on the next evening was also taken upstairs and put in the staff room as the upstairs room on this Friday evening was being used for a wedding.

I am booked for all these events from 9pm till 1am, so I got back to the venue about 8.30 as I like to be early incase things were running quicker than expected. Well they were running on time which was great so hence I started the Disco up at 9pm. We had quite a small mature crowd on this evening to work with for the first christmas party, but when I say small it's not that small we had 80+ guests on this evening so obviously I played the right selection of music to get the crowd going. The whole evening was a great success and everyone had a great night as I had various people dancing all night long which as a D.J. is a great feeling. The crowd were having a great time and also requesting quite a few songs from Waltz's to modern pop and lots of party music which obviously we had and the atmosphere on this night was very seasonal and exciting.

I finished at 1am and got a great cheer and applause from the crowd then Andy and myself went upstairs and started to set up out 2nd show for the following night as we were running 2 shows on the Saturday.We eventually set up everything and left the big show downstairs set up for the following night. We arrived back at our offices at 2.30 am after yet another successful evening with R.J.Rhythm Entertainments. We are now looking forward to our 2nd night at The Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club.
