The Lanhydrock Hotel Wedding Reception 04/09/2010

As I may have said previously due to other bookings coming in we have not been able to take on many Weddings at The Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club this year as we have already been booked when the enquiries come in. Tonight's celebration was a Wedding Reception Disco and once again I was really looking forward to this one as I have not been to Lanhydrock for quite some time now due to other commitments and as I have said before we now got another D. J. now working with us but it seems when we get asked to go to this venue we are both already out, hence why I was so pleased to be back. You will see no Photos showing much in this journal as the people requested for us not to take any on this occasion when we confirmed the booking and as you know we always ask before we take any photographic material or video for our web site.

We arrived about 6pm to set up for this evening as we were booked to start at 7.30pm. With me on this booking was Rob from our village and when we arrived we unloaded the equipment and it was placed just outside the function room door as my party were still on their speeches. When my party had finished the speeches and made there way down to the main bar myself and Rob then set up our show as the staff at the Lanhydrock Hotel turned the room around ready for the evening. The whole show and the room was turned round in less than an hour which was really good timing as they were running a bit late on this occasion.

We started the disco at 7.30pm and started off with playing some background music as we were requested to do as the bride and groom wanted us to start with the first dance at 8.15pm. When the time came we called the bride and groom onto the dance floor for their first dance and then after the first dance asked the crowd to join them for the second dance. After this the party really started going and we have most people up dancing until the buffet which was opened around 9.30. We played through the buffet on this occasion as they requested whilst the people were eating. When everyone had eaten we restarted the party off again with party music and up to date chart music as requested.

We finished at Midnight and Rob and myself packed away the show and rob loaded up the van for me once the show had been packed away which was a great help. It took us about an hour to pack away and get loaded up then we made our way back home after and long and successful evening.

As well as this show on this evening I had Little John and Darren out at another Big Venue in Polzeath entertaining 150 people celebrating a Birthday so Click Here for Journal and Photos of yet another brilliant evening with the R.J.Rhythm Crew.
