La Scala Bodmin Jail Wedding Celebration 02/05/2010

As I said previously we have never in our 12 years of living in Bodmin worked at Bodmin Jail before and we are have now actually worked there within 2 weeks of each other. The function room is called La Scala and the evening was for a Wedding Celebration as the Bride and Groom got married overseas. The evening was booked for myself to D. J, which worked out great as we were also working at The Swan in Wadebridge on this night. We had the whole crew out on this night including D. J. Mikey Mike who is now back with us helping out after a 3 year break.

We set of from our office in Bodmin at 5.00pm as we had 2 shows to set up. With me was Little John, Mikey Mike, Carla and Annette. We got to our first venue which was Bodmin Jail, John and Mike Carried the equipment and helped me set up for the first show which took us about an hour to set up then John and Annette with her friend Carla set of to do the other show at The Swan in Wadebridge which was one of our Karaoke Shows. My show started off around 7.30pm and I announced that the Bride and Groom would be arriving in about an hour so I was there to entertain the children until they arrived. We played mostly requests that the children were asking for for the first part of this evening. The Bride and groom arrived around about 8.45pm and as I announced their arrival I played Cliff Richard's Congratulations and they arrived through the door followed by some other various Wedding songs. They had the buffet at 9pm then afterwards they had a few speeches and we restarted the music round about 10.30. As we were running a bit late and we were only booked until 11.30 I decided to find out if we could go on a little longer and we managed to do this which was great as when we restarted we had everyone up dancing from 10.30 till midnight when we eventually finished. The whole night was a great success and it was nice to have Mikey back working along side me again.

When we had finished myself and Mikey packed away and by the time we had done this Little John had arrived back from Wadebridge and they both then loaded the van for me and we made our way back home. We eventually arrived home at about 1.30 am.

Next Saturday I have a private function at The Buffs Club in Penryn which is a wedding reception with Karaoke and a Disco again this is going to be the first time for R.J.Rhythm Entertainments to be working at a new venue and I am very much looking forward to this evening.
