Hyde Park Social Club, Mutley, Plymouth. 60th B' day 10/04/2010

This was the first time that R.J.Rhythm have played at The Hyde Park Social Club near Mutley in Plymouth and I knew from last week when I was at the Tamar what a awkward set up this would be as we took a look on the way to last weeks gig. Tonight's gig was a 60th Birthday party celebration with a little bit of Karaoke for the kids and apart from the set up we were really looking forward to playing at this new venue.

We set off from our offices at about 4.00 pm as I knew it was going to take a while to set up the show for the evening. We arrived at The Social Club at about 5.15pm. I only had Annette with me on this occasion but it worked out quite well as we managed to get help to carry the equipment up the spiral stairs. Annette stayed by the van and told the people helping us what to take up to the function room. It took them about an hour to do this and then took me about an hour to get totally set up for the evening for me to start at 7.30.and once again as you can see from the pictures they all had a great time throughout the evening. We also done a little bit of Karaoke for the kids which went down really well. We played all sorts of music from Rock 'n' Roll right up to present date. I even had some of the youngsters break dancing against one of the adults which you can see some of this clicking on our Video page.

We finished around 11.30pm and again we had help carrying the equipment down the spiral staircase which was great as we managed to pack away within a hour which was not bad going as we were all really feeling tired at the end of this one. We eventually arrived back at our offices at about 2am and I must admit I was glad to be home as I knew what a week I had ahead of me celebrating Annette's Birthday and of course also my Birthday

Well next Saturday I have 2 shows and Little John is going to do The Garland Ox Karaoke Evening in Bodmin for me whilst I do a Civil Partnership Celebration and we are both really looking forward to this as you know we always do ever week.
