Ian's 50th Birthday Party At Home In Bodmin 05/09/2009

This event was completely different to what we normally do as it was a 50th Birthday Party with quite a bit of a difference, it was in a house in the middle of bodmin and the theme was a 70's night as well. I must admit when I took this booking I was a bit dubious as I know from talking to other entertainers that house parties can get out of hand sometimes, but this one was different as I have worked with these guests before at the Lanhydrock Hotel and Country Club and this was the reason I took this booking and I am so glad I did as you will find out as you read on.

With me on this booking was Scott and John. We arrived at the venue about 6pm, Scott and John carried in the equipment and helped me to set. We were booked from 7.00 till 11pm. The evening as I already said was booked as a Disco Evening to celebrate the 50th Birthday of Ian. We started off the music with a little background music so people could have a chat etc as they were arriving. This event was a 70's evening so obviously I played 70's pop and slow music as people were chatting.

We started the party off properly about 8.00 after everyone had arrived and from the first song we had people dancing all night long and our music selection ranged from the 1970 right up to 1970 for this event. Everyone was having a great night and I must have given out another 20 business cards throughout the evening, which obviously tells me that again R.J. Rhythm as we advertise can cater for any occasion old or young. The hosts and the crowd were all in fancy dress and they looked great. Everyone made such an effort and the atmosphere all night long was electrifying. Well 11pm came and we were winding down to finish but obviously this was not going to happen on this occasion and we were asked to stay for an extra hour so we eventually finished at midnight and I was very pleased on how the evening went in this house party as I must admit I did not expect it to be yet what I would say another one of our best nights on this evening. It took us about 40 minutes to pack away and get everything into the van. We eventually got home at 1.30am and were completely shattered again after yet another successful evening with myself and the R.J.Rhythm Entertainments crew.
