Duke Of Cornwall Karaoke Party in Mount Charles 09/01/2010

This event was a first for R.J.Rhythm Entertainments to be working at The Duke of Cornwall in Mount Charles and we were very much looking forward to this one since we have not been back in the St. Austell area for quite a while due to other bookings in the Cornwall and Devon area over the past 12 months. This event was a Karaoke public event and also there was a birthday celebration as well on this occasion. I have to admit that I was beginning to worry at one stage during this week as all roads into my village were blocked because of the recent weather conditions and I had been stuck in my village for 4 days before this event.

With me on this booking was Andy from Bodmin, Andy who was originally part of our Plymouth crew but now lives in St. Austell and Annette. We arrived at the venue about 6.30pm which was a bit early for an 8.30pm start but as we have never worked at this venue before I like to get there in plenty of time as we obviously did not know what the set up or distance to carry the equipment was going to be like. Andy carried in the equipment and helped me to set up and it took us about an hour to do this as we were trying different things to make the show look good in this new venue. We were booked from 8.30 till 11.30pm. The evening as I already said was booked as a Karaoke Evening and also to celebrate Birthday of John who was once one of the licence's of the venue. We started off the music with a little background music so people could have a chat etc as they were arriving. This event was a mixed evening so obviously I played mixed music as people were chatting.

We started the party off properly about 8.30 after everyone had arrived and from the first song we had people dancing throughout the night and our music selection ranged from the 1970 right up to date for this event. The Karaoke did not take long to get going either and we had quite a few requests through out the evening. Everyone was having a great night and I must have given out about 10 business cards throughout the evening, which obviously tells me that again R. J. Rhythm as we advertise can cater for any occasion old or young. The atmosphere all night long was electrifying. We do have some video footage of this function and to view this you need to click onto our Video Page and it is best to find certain videos by following the instructions on the first line right under the video player.

Well 11.20pm came and we were winding down to finish after calling last orders and I was very pleased on how the evening went for our first time at this new venue. It took us about 40 minutes to pack away and get everything into the van. We eventually got home at 12.30am and were completely shattered again after yet another successful evening with myself and the R.J.Rhythm Entertainments crew. We are back there again on March 27th and we are looking forward to our second visit to this venue.
