Carlyon Bay Golf Club Wedding Reception Function 24/04/2010

This was the first time that R.J.Rhythm have played at The Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club. Tonight's gig was for a Wedding Reception of Teresa and Gary. We have been in Cornwall now for over 14 years and this venue is the first venue that has asked for a copy of our public liability insurance as apparently they only let entertainment companies into the venue if they carry public liability, which I must admit is a good thing and I am surprised most venues don't ask for it. We also now have a professional photographer with us now and then as no doubt you can see from the pictures on this Journal they are excellent especially as no flash was used at all during the evening. I would like to say a big thanks to a special friend of mine Darren for doing these for me on this evening.

We set off from our offices at about 5.50 pm as I had to pick Darren up from St. Austell. We arrived at The Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club at about 6.15pm. With me on this evening was Darren as I already have said before and Rob who is now back with us from my Village. When we got to the venue the members were still using the club so we unloaded the van and put all the equipment by the entrance ready to just lift in and set up. It took us just over an hour to do this and then carry everything into where the function was going to be and get totally set up for the evening for me to start at 7.30. I started off with a little background music as the guests were arriving for the evening and also entertained the children for half and hour. At 8.30 we called the bride and groom up for the first dance followed by inviting other couple to join them on the second dance then started the party music after these dances. Once again as you can see from the pictures they all had a great time throughout the whole of evening, We played everything from the 1960's right up to the present date along with plenty of requests. You can see some of this event by clicking on our Video page.

We finished around Midnight, Rob and Darren helped to pack away and we were packed away and loaded within a hour which was not bad going as it had been raining all night and we had to load the van in the rain. We eventually arrived back at our offices at about 1.30am as I had to drop Darren back home in town.

Well next week is another Bank Holiday Weekend and on Saturday we are back at The Tamar in Plymouth then Sunday we have another Wedding reception which is back at La Scala in Bodmin Jail and so myself and my staff have another hectic weekend which we are looking forward to as we do every weekend.
